The Towson Tigers recently partnered with the team at SportContract, a leading video analytics and player development tool. The partnership with SportContract will allow the men's ice hockey team to further develop their players through use of advanced data analytics and video tagging services. All members of the team receive a free login to the site upon their arrival to the program and are able to pull previous game footage, stats from previous games, and message coaches and other teammates through the app. SportContract is rooted in hockey and the team continuously invents and develops new ways to improve sports analytics and scounting, allowing the men's ice hockey team to have access to the latest technologies in the space.
As a coaching and player development tool, the men's ice hockey team coaches are able to track individual player stats, watch and share video with players/the entire team, and use the system as a recruiting tool for prospective players. Nick Schiavone, head coach of the Towson Tigers, said, "we believe as we move forward with the program, our partnership with the team at SportContract will give us a competitive advantage in video analytics and statistics tracking". The partnership will allow the staff to gain valuable insights on the current team, track prospective players' progress, and scout opponents more effectively, putting the team in a better position for success. The team is excited to utilize the technology offerings and work closely with the SportContract team for years to come.
